The Baltimore Orioles aren’t at the top of MLB standings, but their players top any pro sports list when it comes to being standup guys.
According to Tim Anderson, his roommate, who is a grounds crew intern, was mugged by four men outside of Camden Yards following the team’s loss to the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.
Unfortunately, the intern had his phone, cash and keys stolen. But, by noon the next day, players had chipped in to replace his lost valuables.
“They didn’t have to do that, and they didn’t do it for any PR, (I’m pretty sure that this is the only post about it out there),” Tim wrote on LinedIn. “They are genuinely just a great group of people with tremendous character and generosity.”

This shows a lot about the Orioles’ organization as a whole. When something bad happens to a player, coach or support staff member, word travels quickly in Baltimore, and the team pulls together.
That’s knocking it out of the park.
