Damon Hodges, 16, lost his legs at two years old, but that hasn’t stopped him from playing varsity level football.

The teen from Ohio will suit up at defensive end for Liberty High School despite the fact that he’ll be playing with two prosthetic legs.

According to The Vindicator, Hodges was born without fully developed legs due to a birth complication. Because the umbilical cord wrapped around his legs, he had to have them amputated below the knee when he was a toddler.

That wasn’t the only trauma Hodges experienced.

“He lost his father [Damon Hodges Sr.] at age 12 and they were very, very close,” his mother said. “His father would always encourage him and tell him that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve that goal.”

Still, his dream of playing varsity football remained strong.
