All Warriors fans have been smiling since the NBA season ended, but one in particular is grinning from ear to ear. That’s because Steph Curry surprised him in a newly remodeled home that would accommodate his needs.
Navy veteran Timothy Birckhead suffers from hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsy, an incurable disease, that is characterized by numbness, tingling and loss of muscle function.
Because of his disability, Birckhead needed major renovations (like voice-activated doors and lower counter tops in the kitchen) to his New Jersey home, so ABC’s The View partnered with Home for Our Troops and Home Depot to take care of the work. They also brought in Curry to hide in one of the bathrooms and surprise Birckhead.
“I’m just happy to be here with you guys,” Curry said when he sat down with the family. “Tim, you’re a big inspiration to me. Now you got a new place to watch our games on TV! … When I’m on the court now, I’ll remember Tim’s sitting in his man cave right now watching!”
