At 107, Virginia McLaurin made made headlines weeks ago when she danced with the Obama’s.

When describing her day at the White House, she said, “I can die smiling now.”

That smile hasn’t left her face. In fact, it’s only become wider thanks to the Harlem Globetrotters. McLaurin had the chance to dance with the basketball team that combines hoops, theater, and comedy at the Washington D.C. charter school where she spends 40 hours a week volunteering as a foster grandmother.

“I didn’t think I’d ever get the chance to meet them, but I always watch them, and I used to try and do what they do with the ball, but it didn’t work,” she said with a chuckle.

After McLaurin made her White House debut, the Globetrotters decided that they wanted to treat her and her students to a performance to help celebrate her 107th birthday. So, they gave McLaurin a jersey with her name on the back and the number 107, and they donated 107 game tickets to students from her school.

At the assembly, and with the Globetrotters backing her, she told the students, “Obey your parents…Go to school. Get all the education you can get.”

Living to 107? She’s one worth listening to.
