Minnestota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau knows it’s not just the guys on the basketball court who make a team successful.

That’s why a day after the 2017 NBA Draft, he personally surprised the Timberwolves’ sales staff with pizza to thank them for kicking it into overdrive while selling ticket plans.

Thibodeau walked in with an armful of pies as the sales’ team cheered him on.

Just a day earlier, the Timberwolves acquired three-time All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls in a trade. Because of the deal, the sales department was putting in long hours.

“We wanted to surprise the staff a little bit,” [Timberwolves’ chief revenue officer Ryan) Tanke said, “so coach had the idea of bringing in everybody some pizzas and saying thanks for their hustle and all the work they’re putting in. It was a really fun surprise for the staff.” (Twin Cities Pioneer Press)

That’s the way to run a team.
