Meet the Speed Sisters, the first all-female race car driving team in the Middle East.

Because a car doesn’t detect gender, this team has the confidence to compete all across Palestine and in a male-dominated society.

“They roar beyond checkpoints of Israeli soldiers and zip through the glare of religious conservatives who curse their humming pistons and blowing hair. Shifting gears and beating clocks, they are restless souls in a sequestered world that cannot contain their visions. – Jeffrey Fleishman (L.A. Times)

The Speed Sisters were formed in 2009 thanks to backing from the British Consulate in Jerusalem. Since then, they’ve broken stereotypes surrounding what women are capable of doing.

In 2015, a documentary called “Speed Sisters” hit select theaters, and it’s now available on iTunes.
