The last time we told you about University of Pittsburgh running back James Conner, he was taking part in team practices while undergoing 12 weeks of chemotherapy with a surgical mask on and a port in his chest.

Fast forward nine months later, and Conner not only kicked Hodgkin’s lymphoma’s ass, but he ran for 20 touchdowns and over 1,000 yards this season.

There was no better choice for the Disney Spirit Award, which Conner received on Thursday night at the annual College Football Awards.

Check out ESPN’s Shelley Smith and Holly Rowe, who are both cancer survivors, introduce Conner and welcome him on stage.

What. A. Night.

For all of us.
