Undefeated high school wrestling champion Deven Schuko suffered his first loss when he took on Andy Howland, but it wasn’t just any defeat.

Schuko, a senior from Norton High School in Massachusetts, was 27-0 and then he let one of his dreams die all so could fulfill the wish of Howland, a wrestling enthusiast from Dighton-Rehoboth High School with special needs.

“He wanted a match, and I wanted to tangle with him,” Schuko told WCVB5.

The two wrapped up, and Schuko was caught off guard.

“He threw in a good move,” Schuko said. “He was strong. He’s a tough kid.”

Now Schuko sits at 27-1, but that tally mark in the loss column means so much more than any of his other wins.
