Before there’s Super Bowl Sunday, there’s Snazzy Suit Saturday.

A group of Atlanta area pigskin lovers and three-piece suit connoisseurs will gather on February 6 to play tackle football not in helmets and shoulder pads, but in well thought out colorful attire.

The charity tournament, called Three Piece Suit Football (TPSF), pits overdressed men and women between the ages of 18 and 45 against one another to raise money for veterans’ organizations.

Now in its eighth year, TPSF will raise money for Pets for Vets, an organization that rescues dogs and trains them to help veterans needing assistance.

“People might have this misconception that we’re just out here drinking beer,” said Ming “Jessica” Hii, 27, of Atlanta, a counselor at a state psychiatric hospital. Last year, her 11-month-old son, Carter, wore a mini three-piece suit to the game. “TPSF embraces the cultural value of being around friends, loved ones, having a beer if you want, or two or three, playing football and, most importantly, contributing to a good cause.” (CNN)

Since its existence, TPSF has raised over $7,000 for United Military Care.
