(Jillian Loyden spreading some light for people engulfed in darkness)
Purpose 2 Play staffer Brittany Alvarado was out helping former pro soccer star Jillian Loyden last week doing video work for Loyden’s annual Breaking the Silence gala.
Loyden lost her sister, Britton, to domestic violence in 2012, and has since created the Jillian Loyden Foundation. The foundation aims to motivate and empower youth in order to put an end to domestic violence.
As you’ll see from the video, Loyden goes and surprises two people who have been affected by domestic violence in the worst way. One high school student lost her father (4:00 mark) and one woman lost her 5-week old baby to an abusive husband (6:45). Watch Jill surprise the two during filming, and get the Kleenex ready.
