Mr. Irrelevant? Not so much.
David Vobora was selected last in the 2008 NFL Draft, and after his four-year career with the St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks, he found a greater life purpose.
He kicked his addiction to pain pills and used his knowledge surrounding physical fitness to start the Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF), a safe place for wounded warriors and civilians who have suffered life-altering injuries to go to regain hope through movement and motivation.
An Army sergeant who lost his arm, but found skeleton racing? You bet. A woman who lost her legs to septic shock, but just ran a mile in the Boston Marathon? Hell yeah!
These are the folks that provide as much stability to Vobora’s world as he provides them.
Most recently, ATF partnered with the High Fives Foundation to bring military members who have lost limbs to the mountain for a fun few days of skiing in Lake Tahoe.
Check out their weekend, which was featured on SportsCenter.
As for Vobora’s draft grade? He gets an A+ from us.
