St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Matt Carpenter is from Galveston, Texas, so in an effort to help the region that was leveled by Hurricane Harvey, he’s pledging to donate $10,000 per home run to relief efforts through the rest of the season.
Not only that, but teammate Adam Wainwright, the Cardinals organization and former MLB player Adam Dunn will match Carpenter’s donation.
So, for each home run Carpenter hits, $40,000 will go toward helping Houston rebuild.
From now till the rest of the season we will donate 10,000 dollars for every Homerun I hit to help aid the relief efforts in Houston

Carpenter hit his first home run since making the pledge on Tuesday night when he blasted one out of the park against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Carpenter has 30 games left in the season to help knock home runs for Houston. And there’s no doubt he’ll be aiming long.
