The Savannah Bananas (yes, that’s the team’s name) weren’t looking to add to their roster, but when they stumbled upon an abandoned 7-week-old puppy in their stadium parking lot, everything changed.
The brown pup didn’t have a collar or microchip. She was dehydrated and hungry. So, the college-league baseball team’s president, Jared Orton, took her in.
“One of our ticket sales staff found her crying in the parking lot and immediately brought her inside. We cleaned her up a little bit and got her water and puppy formula because she was obviously hungry and dehydrated,” Orton said. “From there we got her over to the local Humane Society to get a professional evaluation and see if anyone would claim her. We weren’t planning on getting a dog, but we knew we would be going back to pick her up and make her a part of the family!”

Daisy will sit (with training) among the front office for years to come, with Orton saying, “She’ll be a fixture at the ballpark.”
And you thought nothing could out-do a banana wearing sunglasses.
