Two years ago, Houston Texans lineman Devon Still was in the hospital as his then 4-year-old daughter, Leah, battled for her life.

Fast forward to Friday night and Devon and Leah were dancing at his wedding.

After Leah was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, Devon and longtime girlfriend, Asha Joyce, postponed their wedding for a couple of years. Now that Leah is cancer-free, the couple can settle into their future a little more.

“We put off the wedding because my daughter was battling cancer. Now that [the wedding] is officially here, it’s the beginning of our future and the end to a hard time,” Devon told PEOPLE. “When I saw [Leah] even before the wedding, I got emotional. We’d been waiting for this moment for a long time.”

Devon and Asha got married in the New York Public Library in front of about 180 loved ones.

Leah, now 6 years old, was their flower girl, and she stole the show.

“Thank you for everybody supporting me and I love my new family,” Leah said on the mic. “Now, let’s party!”

The new family danced the night away.
