Remember Becky “Icebox” O’Shea from the 1994 movie, Little Giants? She was the talented tough-as-nails quarterback who was cut during tryouts just because she was a girl. She and the less-talented players who were also cut started their own underdog team coached by Rick Moranis.

Meet the real life Icebox, Kelly Macnamara.

She may not be throwing touchdowns, but she’s still adding points to the scoreboard with her reliable leg. The North Penn High School sophomore soccer player is also the fourth-best kicker in the state of Pennsylvania, according to Max Preps. Oh, and she’s in her first year of football, too.

Her leg isn’t what caught the attention of the nation this week, however. It was her ability to lay the wood. On one particular kick return, the returner was bolting down the sideline looking as if he would score a touchdown until Macnamara angled her hit perfectly and knocked him out of bounds.

It was hands down the hit of the week among high school players.

We can’t wait to see what else this player will do.
