That’s right. There is no off season in the NFL, especially for the good guys of the league.
Seattle Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril recruited Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch, Tampa Bay offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus, and recently retired running back Marshawn Lynch to travel to Haiti and build a school.
The country has a special place in Avril’s heart. His parents came to the U.S. from Haiti in the 80’s. The project, which was accompanied by a mobile medical clinic and a youth football camp (for 350 kids), is part of the Cliff Avril Family Foundation.
“It’s awesome to have their support, it’s awesome to be in a situation where guys are willing to take that step with you,” Avril told the Seahawks’ web site. “Marshawn wants to help actually build the school out there. There’s a lot of good guys in the NFL … It’s cool to have these guys’ support.”
