Millions of people do pushups every day. It’s a staple workout move whether you’re just getting up off the couch to get some activity in or whether you’re a professional athlete training for your sport.
While 22 pushups may not seem like a lot, that number is making a huge difference in the lives of military veterans.
Twenty-two is the number of veterans who commit suicide every day because they’re not given the adequate resources to cope with life after war.
Honor Courage Commitment started a program called #22KILL, which helps veterans find a “sense of purpose” after duty by promoting community service, education, and mentorship.
The student athletes at York College are up to good again, this time, raising money for #22KILL.
The men’s and women’s lacrosse teams raised $7,100 by completing 22 pushups.
