Combine hitting the books with a little elbow grease, and big things can come.

That was the lesson for 9-year-old Cubs superfan, Kolt Kyler, when he was surprised by his parents with Chicago Cubs tickets.

The Indiana boy, who works hard in school and on his family’s farm, never misses a game on television, but he’s never been to Wrigley Field to watch his team live.

With Kolt’s mother holding the camera, his father began to tell him how proud he was of him for taking on all of the daily chores while he was tired. Then his dad handed him an envelope and said, “This is something here that you and I are going to do and it’s going to take a whole day to do it. Do you want to do it?”

Kolt likely thought it was another big chore, but he agreed to it anyway. Then he opened the envelope and began crying as he pulled out Cubs tickets, and realized he was going to his first game this June.

Kolt’s sister, Hannah, tweeted the video, which has since gone viral.

Proof that hard work pays off.
