Dallas is still going strong in their effort to honor the five police officers who were killed in the downtown shooting on July 7.
When the Dallas Stars take the ice in their home opener against the Anaheim Ducks Thursday night, players will wear the badges of the officers on their helmets.

The team will also include officers’ families in the ceremonial puck drop prior to the game.
We know a lot of officers in the Dallas Police Department,” Stars Executive Vice President Brad Alberts said. “For us, this is very personal. We weren’t able to do anything really in the off-season, but we wanted to show our support for the department and these officers. We know these guys, they help us every day and we wanted to be there for them in any way we could.” (For The Win)
In recent months, the Stars have donated $100,000 to the Dallas Fallen Officers Fund.
