Special Olympics Athletes Got Chance At X Games Medals Through Unified Snowboarding

The 2015 Winter X Games in Aspen was full of thrilling events.

However, perhaps none provided as much joy as the Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding competition.

We were on hand to capture it all, as pro riders such as Hannah Teter and Jamie Anderson dished out fast runs and high-fives to some amazing athletes, who flew in from all over the country for this event.

For the first time ever, 10 Special Olympic athletes were paired with 10 X Games athletes to compete in a dual giant slalom race. The prize up for grabs? X Games medals, of course.
