Lifelong L.A. Dodgers fan Teresa Sanchez was down and out on Opening Day. That’s because she was sick and in the hospital, so her family had to sell their game day tickets.
However, the end of the season is proving to be a much happier time for Sanchez, not only because her team is up 1-0 in the World Series, but because she’s going to be at Dodger Stadium Wednesday night for Game 2.
The dream-come-true tickets came from her children, who surprised her with them by holding up a sign and asking her to read it aloud.
“‘Hey mom, you’re going to watch the LA Dodgers play in the World Series,’” it said, according to what Sanchez’s daughter, Valerie Bharadwaj, told CBS Los Angeles.
Then her sons handed her the golden tickets.
“Oh my God, are you serious? We’re all going? Oh no, I don’t believe it! Are these for real?” Sanchez questioned in astonishment.

Once the Dodgers made the World Series, Sanchez’s youngest son sprung for Game 2 tickets so their entire family could attend.
The game means the world to Sanchez, who was screaming as loud as any Dodgers fan from her living room in 1988 when Kirk Gibson blasted a two-run walk-off home run to beat the Oakland Athletics 5-4 in Game 1 of the World Series. Of course, the Dodgers went on to win the World Series that year.
Sanchez raised her children to be Dodgers fans, and with any luck, they’ll see a win for their team, and who knows, maybe even catch a foul ball. Can you imagine the screaming from Sanchez then?
