Do you remember seeing your favorite team play in person for the first time? It’s without a doubt, one of the most special experiences of a sports fan’s life.
Jayden Perez, 8, learned he would be attending his first New York Giants game thanks to a special surprise from his parents.
The boy, who has played football in his hometown of Woodland Park, NJ since the age of 5, and says Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. are his favorite players, never misses a game on television.
So, when his mom, Ana Rosado, received VIP tickets from her boss for Monday night’s game between the Giants and the Detroit Lions, she set up a camera, and with her husband, surprised Jayden with tickets for an unforgettable night at MetLife Stadium.
What they didn’t expect, however, was Jayden’s strong emotional response when he had his very first NFL ticket in hand. Take a look:
“He couldn’t believe it! I had to share the video,” Rosado told NJ Advance Media. “Jayden loves football and he loves the Giants. The tickets were a gift from my boss. It was so unexpected. Jayden has never been to a game. We knew he’d be excited–but neither of us expected him to be that happy.”
The Giants may have lost to the Lions 24-10, but we have no doubt, it was still an incredible experience for Jayden, who may one day, be telling his own kids to look between the couch cushions for their own special game day surprise.
