Dallas Stars Welcome Bullied Youth Hockey Player Who Grew His Hair For Friend With Cancer

Charlie Wilson plays for an elite hockey team in Dallas, and has a heart of gold.

Wilson met Libby Serber in first grade and when he learned she had a rare form of kidney cancer, he started growing his hair out to make a donation to Locks of Love in her honor.

Wilson grew his hair out for two years and when it reached past his shoulders, he started getting harassed at school.

“Some kids thought it was funny to let my hair grow as boy, and people made fun of me,” Wilson said.

Despite the bullying, Wilson continued to grow his hair and honor his friend. So, the Dallas Stars invited Wilson and Serber to one of their practices recently, where they honored both kids, and let Wilson skate with them.
