A varsity distance swimmer and senior journalism student at American University, Shannon enjoys telling the stories of athletes who make a difference, inspire others and follow their dreams. Shannon plans to graduate in May and spend her final year of college writing as much as possible while chasing her athletic goals in the pool. After interning at Sports Illustrated and USA Today, Shannon has intensified her interest in the media industry and enjoys combining her passion for sports with her love for reporting. A native of Cary, North Carolina, Shannon has competed at the 2013 and 2015 triathlon Age Group World Championships and would love to one day race an Ironman.
